Compensation: $52.88 per contact hour

Schedule: Surveying classes are offered mornings, afternoons, and evenings Monday through Thursday. They are also held on Saturday mornings and afternoons. All Surveying classes are conducted at the Delaware Campus.

Job Description:

The department invites applicants to teach various Surveying courses. Faculty may be needed to teach outside, off-campus sites and to assist with the instruction of distance learning courses. Both day and evening classes are available.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: on-line instruction techniques and methods; AutoCAD Civil 3D; Trimble Business Center; Microsoft Office; Blackboard; internet research. Skill In: providing quality instruction (developmental, multicultural, applied learning) and support to a diverse student body; learning technologies and use of multi-media technology to enhance student learning; instructional planning and presentation; incorporating critical thinking, effective communication, and other general education outcomes in course content. Ability to: perform student learning outcomes assessments; demonstrate teaching strategies that focus on student- centered learning; demonstrate a commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies that aid student success and retention and reflect industry trends; adapt to multi-campus organizational work environments as well as changes in the discipline.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with Survey Minor), Geomatics, or closely related field or licensed P.S. or S.I. Certificate. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics or closely related field; Prior teaching experience; Experience using BlackBoard; Prior teaching experience.

Additional Information: May be needed to teach at off campus sites and assist with the instruction of distance learning courses. Both day and evening classes are available.
