Position Summary:

As a key member of the UW Health Nephrology Division, the incumbent will focus on patients with kidney disease. Clinical activity will address the areas of Acute Kidney Injury, Glomerular disease, HTN, Kidney stones and ESRD. Particular importance will be given to interests and expertise in education and clinical research.

Principal Duties:

Provide patient care at UW Health approved location(s); provide clinical teaching to medical students, residents and fellows. Participation in division/departmental Grand Rounds programs. Clinical responsibilities as well pursuit for independent research and funding, clinical research and publication of results.

Appointments at the rank of Associate (CHS) will need to meet established University, School of Medicine and Public Health requirements for the CHS track.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD or equivalent required. Board certified or eligible in Nephrology required

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Completion of a 2 year fellowship in nephrology required

License or Certificate:

Eligible for medical license in Wisconsin

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.

This vacancy is being announced simultaneously with PVL 238760; please note that only one vacancy exists. Having two position vacancy listings allows the School of Medicine and Public Health to consider clinical teacher faculty candidates with or without research credentials for this non-tenure-track position.
