Howard Community College is seeking a Program Coordinator to support our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and support the co-chairs who will manage the college wide program. This position reports to our campus in Columbia, MD and works up to 25 hours a week..

DEI Program Coordinator will assist co-chairs with implementing the vision of DEI Committee. Individual will collaborate with co-chairs and coordinate DEI committee meetings and trainings.

WORK PERFORMED

  • Support co-chairs and committee members
  • Act as liaison for sub-committees and with different departments on campus to coordinate DEI programs
  • Provide logistical coordination
  • Plan and coordinate DEI Committee trainings and events
  • Enter and update diversity courses and sections into Colleague and maintain attendance and evaluation for diversity programs and on campus calendar
  • Assist with meeting agendas and take minutes during monthly DEI Committee meeting
  • Create online requisitioning in Colleague
  • Manage Search Committee List
  • Create and Manage DEI email account
  • Design, update and manage DEI web page on the internet/intranet
  • Conduct research on local diversity organizations and arrange to attend meetings
  • Attend diversity conferences and necessary trainings
  • Create, categorize, and update organizational chart of DEI Committee
  • Locate diversity resources in library and develop index numbers
  • Manage DEI Resources at the library such as locating diversity resources in the library and develop index numbers
  • Order books and other resources for reading circles and colloquia
  • Provide administrative assistance and perform other tasks as needed
  • Support with Social Media accounts as needed
  • High School degree or equivalent required
  • Associate Degree preferred
  • 2 years of administrative work or related experience
  • Participation, coursework, volunteer experience or work experience in the diversity, equity and inclusion space preferred
  • Computer skills including web development/management, advanced word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation graphics software skills

Hours Per Week: 25
Work Schedule: As needed and based on event schedule
Compensation: $18/hour
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Grade: Hourly/ Temp

This position will work a maximum of 25 hours a week on campus in Columbia, MD.
