About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admissions at Northeastern University, the Associate Director supports all aspects of the application process and communications for domestic and international students' applications as well as internal university stakeholders from around the globe at all nine colleges at Northeastern University. The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions will have supervisory responsibilities for the admissions counselor(s) and will serve as an integral role in the growth of the Enrollment Management department. S/he is responsible for the application process for more than 50,000 domestic and international students' applications for bachelor's completion, graduate and doctoral program applications each academic year to facilitate the enrollment of talented adult undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students at Northeastern University.

The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions serves as an enrollment leader, along with supporting assigned colleges and/or regions, enrollment team members, and enrollment service partners. Under the supervision of the Director of Graduate Admissions, the Associate Director is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of graduate and bachelor's completion application processing operations, including process design and developing processing and counseling staff workflow. The incumbent is responsible for training and supporting Staff on admissions systems, including the Admissions CRM systems, as well as oversight of credential evaluation and processing for all bachelor's completion and graduate applications, including global pathways.

Responsibilities:

This position will work closely with the Director of Graduate Admissions and Senior Director of Graduate & Professional Admissions and will coordinate with the graduate processing team on workflow priorities and system improvements. S/he is part of a team responsible for the application process, transcript evaluation review, coordination with college partners and program faculty directors, admission selection, and decision release quality control. To effectively coordinate an admission application, the individual will maintain meticulous records of the application requirements and admissions protocols for the various undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs the University offers in the application completion manual and application system that admissions counselors can use to determine application completion and make admissions decisions as required.

The position will also manage the infrastructure to operate, maintain and support the program level information required for effective processing of applications in coordination with the college, manage the point of contact list by the program, including program directors or admissions decision makes at the college level to forward the completed application file after review for decision making. The position will also be responsible for ensuring a high level of client services by maintaining an efficient, streamlined application process and providing backup assistance for other service departments as needed. Daily, they are responsible for managing and reporting on workflow, progress towards institutional goals, ensuring data integrity within admissions systems and to receiving systems. They manage the effective delivery of all print, electronic, and web communications related to the application process, communications-related inventory, supporting the prospect mail flow, communication plan, project implementation, transfer credit evaluation, quality assurance, and other operational responsibilities as need are.

The Associate Director is expected to work effectively and build partnerships in a matrix organization, collaborating closely with the senior leadership, colleges, and college deans, regional campuses and campus Deans, Student Financial Services, online learning, and other campus departments in executing overall goals for the E.M. unit and professional programs.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum bachelor's degree is required.

  • Minimum of two to three years of progressive leadership and administration in the education industry.

  • International Admissions experience including foreign credentials evaluation required.

  • Must have performed leadership roles for at least two years overseeing admissions and application processing units

  • Operated as a supervisor, hired, coached, and managed multicultural teams

  • Proven track record of successful strategic planning, excellent operational and systems management, effective supervisory practice, and innovative approaches to optimizing resources to meet institutional goals and a standard of excellence of service delivery.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills as well as demonstrated creative and analytical abilities.

  • Experience working with CRM lead/prospect management processes and systems, including but not limited to application systems, Salesforce, and ERPs, including Banner for an educational institution.
