Director of Inclusive Excellence Learning (Administrator I)

Job Summary:
The mission of the Division of Inclusive Excellence is to ensure that the University's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is embedded throughout all aspects of the University and its operation. The Division of Inclusive Excellence is charged to provide vision, leadership, and support to the university as it works to achieve its goal of being a welcoming and caring campus where all members of the Hornet Family belong. Embedded within this goal is ensuring the success of all our students as well as the faculty, staff, administrators, and other Sacramento State stakeholders.

The Director of Inclusive Excellence Learning is responsible for the development and delivery of equity, diversity, and inclusion training across campus. The incumbent will develop, deliver, and support the appropriate delivery of learning and professional development curricula related to Sacramento State's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and manage all training from the Division of Inclusive Excellence. The incumbent will serve as the designated advisor to support and assist any equity, diversity, and inclusion learning opportunities and trainings offered to students, faculty, staff, and administrators at Sacramento State to ensure consistency and effectiveness.

With the support of the Vice President, the incumbent will facilitate various trainings available to the campus at-large and target audiences (e.g. Admin Council, Dept. Chairs, new faculty, student leaders, etc.); collaborate with the divisions/departments across campus on diversity, equity and inclusion programs and learning opportunities; identify and vet diversity, equity and inclusion facilitators, training programs, learning opportunities, etc. offered by individuals/entities both on campus and off;

The incumbent will serve as the liaison between Inclusive Excellence and campus, as it relates to equity, diversity, and inclusion trainings and workshops.


FLSA: MPP - This position is defined in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. It is excluded from the collective bargaining process and is exempt from overtime provisions of FLSA. This position is covered by health benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:
Education/ Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent years of professional management experience.
2. Thorough knowledge and understanding of current concepts, theories and learning opportunities in diversity, equity and inclusion
3. Three to five years of experience in developing and delivering training and professional development for faculty and/or employees.
4. Experience in providing lead work direction

5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
7. Strong interpersonal skills.
8. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
9. Superior political acumen and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and diplomatically with multiple constituencies.
10. Ability to handle sensitive and/or complex situations with confidentiality and discretion.
11. Proficiency in standard office programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
