Education Outreach Center Technical Assistant/Bookkeeper - Grant Funded (PT)

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour DOE


This is a grant-funded position. Grant-funded positions expire either at the end of the stated term or whenever funding for the position ceases.




The part-time Education Outreach Center Technical Assistant/Bookkeeper coordinates the daily program operations and outreach for the Education Outreach Center and various funding within, including the scheduling, organizing and monitoring of class schedules, and the management of databases.



Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists in organizing and managing internal daily program operations and programs;
  • Assists in developing systems to improve program operations, coordination and collaboration among staff;
  • Assists in coordinating program activities and events, and supervises students and staff in the use of College equipment and facilities;
  • Serves as intake liaison for walk-ins interested in college and assists students with admissions applications, financial aid and referrals to other College services;
  • Inventories, procures, and arranges for installation, maintenance and repair of equipment;
  • Collaborates with Information Technology to oversee building technologies and educational software;
  • Participates in program planning and decision making as part of the program management team;
  • Works effectively with all Education Outreach Center funding sources;
  • Serves on College and community committees, and works to foster a supportive culture;
  • Works in conjunction with the Director of the Education Outreach Center to ensure that all program outcomes are present;
  • Assists with data input, maintain data integrity and create statistical reports for the Center’s multiple programs/grants by utilizing their respective grant reporting systems (MIS, DYB, WIPS, etc.);
  • Registers students for and administer/proctor the computer based high school equivalency exam (TASC)
  • Creates advertisement/informational flyers with Adobe Creative Cloud which are distributed to the community, prospective clients and faculty/staff;
  • Prepares and receives all EOC purchases, maintains supplies on and off-site, and supervises client and staff usage of supplies;
  • Orders, inventories, installs, maintains and assists with repair of EOC technological equipment and supervises its use;
  • Coordinates and facilitates program-based learning activities and assist with outreach events;
  • Assists instructors, professional and administrative staff in the routine operation of the EOC;
  • Assists with referring EOC clients to college and/or relevant community resources;
  • Assists with the Center’s social media accounts and maintenance of EOC web page: www.mvcc.edu/eoc;
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Director of the Education Outreach Center.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services or related field and a minimum of three (3) years related full-time paid work experience in a student support, community-based setting or related area
  • Effective interpersonal skills with an unbiased approach and the ability to establish rapport and relate sensitively to a multiracial and multicultural group of students and staff
  • Strong management/supervisory skills, the ability to build team skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
