Manager of Grants and Tax Accounting


Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the Manager of Grants and Tax Accounting in Financial Services.


Duties will include, but are not limited to: direct the accounting and financial management of grants and other extramural funding programs; oversee staff perform the duties of ensuring compliance with the rules and regulations of the funding : serve as a resource to principal investigators and other departments on campus with financial training, and reviews for accuracy year-end documents related to financial statements and OMB’s Uniform Guidance;  development, preparation and compilation of accounting reports related to the General James Hackler Golf Course; prepare financial reports; budget maintenance, income and expense reports, journal entries of inventory adjustments and departmental chargebacks; responsible for completing accurate tax returns and assist departments with reporting taxable items; conduct internal audits; annually supervise activities to ensure timely processing of 1099-MISC and 1042-S forms to the IRS, students and suppliers; oversee the University’s international taxation compliance with laws and regulations by working collaboratively with other departments; provide training presentations, guidance, and direction to assist international students and scholars; serve as liaison with third party banking institution and vendors for ACH payments; and perform other duties or special projects as assigned by VP of Finance, Controller, and Deputy Controller.


Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional/paraprofessional experience in a financial related area are required.  Equivalencies may be considered.  A master’s degree and supervisory experience are preferred.
