1 Full-time/Part-time Full-Time Position Type Administration Job Summary/Basic Function
The Testing Services Manager is responsible for the oversight of the Testing Center operations and procedures for both the Escanaba and West campuses. This position will assist students, faculty, community and businesses in their use of testing services. This position serves as the College’s certified representative for third party testing. The Testing Services Manager also coordinates all proctoring of institutional testing for Bay College students at both campuses. The position is charged with managing student employees while building a positive learning environment. The Testing Services Manager is responsible for all official communications with the public regarding use of the testing services resources. The position is also responsible to research and implement new programs and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing services. The Testing Services Manager also serves at a co-advisor, assisting student with advising and registration items.

This position is highly visible to community members and requires occasional travel to Bay College West campus. Minimum Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education or a related field
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an office management environment or higher education experience
• Strong background in computer software, hardware and trouble shooting.
• Considerable experience and training on all Microsoft productivity applications and operating systems
• Extensive knowledge of web browsers and their associated settings and impact on web applications as they relate to testing and online learning
• Experience in assisting computer users to troubleshoot hardware and software problems
• Supervisory experience and excellent communication skills are essential, both written and verbal
• Requires a level-headed approach to problem solving, patience, and attention to details Preferred Qualifications
• Three years of experience managing a testing center

Oversight of third party exams process and procedures. Act of as point of contact with exam providers Job Duty
Serve as Bay College’s certified representative for third party exams Job Duty
Must pass specific exams to maintain certifications to be the certified representative Job Duty
Coordinate and oversee testing activities, which include proctoring tests, tracking test usage and troubleshooting testing problems which includes but is not limited to Academic Testings, Placement Testing, Proctoring of other institutional academic tests, CLEP . Job Duty
Coordinate and oversee certification activities, which include proctoring certification exams, tracking certification usage and troubleshooting certification issues which includes but is not limited to: PAN, Pearson VUE, Prometric, ServSafe, Metro Institute-Agricultural, CUNA -Credit Union, Certiport, ICML . Responsible for maintaining compliance with third party’s rules and regulations for each certification/test Job Duty
Responsible for maintaining a yearly budget of the Testing Center needs Job Duty
Responsible for financial oversight of the placement and proctoring processes including items such as fees and testing units Job Duty
Responsible for all official communications with the public regarding use of testing services resources Job Duty
Oversight of fee structure of third party and proctored exams. Recommend change to fee structure as needed to VP of Student Services Job Duty
Work with Business and Industry on creating partnerships to facilitate their third party testing Job Duty
Manage and enforce the placement testing process and procedures for incoming Bay College students for both campuses Job Duty
Assist students, faculty, community, and business customers in the successful utilization of testing services Job Duty
Coordinate with the Office of Accessibility to accommodate students with special needs with testing Job Duty
Supervise student employees in front-line positions and provide training and guidance Job Duty
Provide structured training to students and faculty using testing services, including an online component Job Duty
Responsible for data entry and retrieval using databases (Jenzabar, Microsoft Access, etc.) on usage of Testing Center Job Duty
Responsible to report out testing services usage statistics on routine schedule for use in Board of Trustees reporting process Job Duty
Review, assess, and analyze Testing Center operations, and recommend changes as needed for optimal operation Job Duty
Maintain academic testing resources in EMS Campus Scheduling software Job Duty
Coordinate and/or provide services on weekends and evening hours Job Duty
Plans for and schedules testing services room use and communicates with customers regarding reservations Job Duty

Co-advising
  • Provide comprehensive and proactive academic advising by supporting academic, career, and personal planning
  • Help students identify their educational and career goals and guide students to select programs of study that are relevant to these goals and courses that fulfill necessary program requirements.
  • Provide advising and coaching while engaging with students in a proactive, personalized, and integrated way in order to connect students to on and off-campus resources.
  • Target risk and intervention: proactively working with students to prevent course failure and program stop-out by supporting timely and effective interventions to increase student retention and completion.
  • Collaborate with Bay College faculty on academic plans for advisees.
  • Assist this student population with class scheduling and curriculum requirements, as well as general advising.
  • Assist with the College’s student orientation program, SOAR
  • Assist with academic advising of students
  • Act as contact person for Bay College students who are experiencing challenges either academically or personally.
