Job Summary
The Director of Admissions is responsible for
assisting in the development and implementation of recruiting
strategies for the law school and for maintaining contact with
prospective students, applicants, and admitted students. Works most
closely with the Assistant Dean of Admissions, Associate Director
of Recruitment and Outreach, Admissions Administrative Specialists,
Registrar, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Faculty Admissions
Chair, and Dean of the law school. Also works with faculty, alumni,
current students, pre-law advisors, law school staff, Board of
Visitors and community members.

- In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Admissions, develop and articulate a strategic vision for law school enrollment at Lewis & Clark College.
- In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Admissions, develop and implement strategic
- recruitment plans to ensure that Lewis & Clark's law school enrollment goals are met.
- In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Admissions, develop a strategic enrollment management plan for the law school.

- In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Associate Director, design and develop a comprehensive outreach program that will broaden the applicant pool and foster meaningful engagement through communications and events.
- Meet with and counsel prospective students and families, and provide admissions and program information.
- Represent Lewis & Clark to large audiences and make informal and creative presentations to encourage enrollment.
- Recruit students to the campus for the JD program. This includes personal interviews, correspondence and telephone communication, on/off campus recruiting activities, travel to various admissions and community-based events to market JD programs to prospective students.
- Assist with the admission and scholarship evaluation of applicants.
- Communicate with admitted students from point of admission to final matriculation, focusing on the goals of enhancing the experience of admitted students.
- Work with the Associate Director for Recruitment and Outreach and communications team to create and deliver effective print and web marketing content for the JD program.
- Develop, maintain and continually enhance communication and marketing plans for prospective law students.
- Develop relationships and communication with JD program directors to collaborate on enrollment strategies for JD programs.
- Foster relationships with businesses/firms, governmental entities, educational institutions, and other potential partners with the goal of developing pipelines for the recruitment of outstanding and diverse students.
- Serve as departmental lead on internal database management and student data stewardship.
- Establish an annual work plan with measurable outcomes and assessment methods.
- Coordinate and evaluate admissions events and strategies including program effectiveness, assessing outcomes, cost analyses, and developing improved programming to achieve enrollment goals.
- Analyze and interpret historical and current data, seeking trends, assessing recruitment efforts, and identifying areas for growth, change and further research.
- Produce and present operating and summary reports, assessments and audit reports.
- Assist with the selection, training, supervision, evaluation, performance management, and discipline of the department employees.
- Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among employees.
- Assist with establishing long-range objectives and specify the strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Assist with building and working with diverse teams effectively.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university.
- Understanding of admission process and best practices.
- 5 years of experience.
- 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Willingness to travel.
- A commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
- Strong compliance orientation.
- Valid Drivers' license.
- Experience in admissions at the graduate or undergraduate level- 5 or more years.
- Event planning experience - 2 or more years.
- Experience using Slate or similar CRM system - 2 or more years.
