Job Summary   

The Assistant Director, Employer and Student Engagement will proactively develop and implement strategies designed to increase employment opportunities for students and recent alumni. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Sr. Associate Director.

 

Description of Duties & Responsibilities

 

Employer Relationship Building (35%)

  • Establish and cultivate relationships with targeted employers and organizations through site visits, lunches, association meetings, conferences, etc.

  • Strategically identify and build relationships strategically with regional, state, national, and international employers for recruitment of students and alumni.

  • Compile and report data on employer relations activities, assess employer relations efforts, facilitate the First Destination Survey and provide feedback as to the effectiveness of such efforts.

 

Career Development Programming (35%)

  • Develop ongoing marketing strategies and materials to bring greater visibility of the college to relevant employers and industries.

  • Oversee on-campus recruiting including employer, job and event approval processes in Handshake.

  • Expand on existing marketing communication efforts including weekly newsletter and social media campaigns.

  • Collaborate with faculty/staff to increase employment opportunities for students.

  • Participate in career development programs coordinated by career services, including, but not limited to, workshops, employer seminars, meetings within and outside of career and counseling services, and other special projects of career and counseling services.

  • Manage & develop employer-related programming and workshops (such as Career Fairs).

  • Works closely with career center's staff and director to share information on recruiting trends

 

Administrative Duties (30%)

  • Manage and develop employer-related programming and workshops (i.e. career fairs, meetups, class presentations, info sessions and career treks).

  • Maintain a detailed database of contacts

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience

  • Previous experience working with corporations, non-profits, or other organizations related to connecting potential employers with students.

  • A dynamic, professional demeanor with exceptional organization, written, and public speaking skills.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.

  • Ability to multitask.

  • Exceptional time management skills.

  • Excellent information system and database management skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized and flexible.

  • Ability to quickly and accurately learn, use, and train others in new software technologies (i.e. Handshake, Qualtrics, etc).

  • Experience working with diverse and underrepresented communities

  • Ability to work some nontraditional work hours including evenings, holidays, or weekends.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (e.g. Masters.)

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience

  • Experience working with diversity recruiting programs or initiatives.

  • Previous experience with any/all of the following: Handshake, social media platforms, Qualtrics, Canva, Mail Chimp.

  • Existing professional relationships with companies and individuals able to provide job and internship opportunities for L&C students.

 

Payrate
  • $47,000 - $51,600 DOE

Schedule
  • 37.5 hrs/week (Full-Time)
