GENERAL INFORMATION

The Department of Education at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment to begin in August 2022. We seek an individual with expertise in education policy in practice broadly defined (e.g. policymaking and analysis, law, curriculum, inclusive education) with a focus on improving systemic inequities. The Education department at the College of the Holy Cross has a commitment to social justice, the study of urban education, and works in partnership with the city of Worcester, particularly the Worcester Public Schools. Preference will be given to candidates who examine system structure and practice through an equity driven lens, and who have a focus on middle and secondary education. The faculty member will be expected to contribute to the Teacher Education Program, as well as the Education minor https://www.holycross.edu/academics/programs/education. This person will teach a foundation course “Schooling in the US”, as well as “Urban Education” as part of their teaching duties. Many courses within the department contribute to College interdisciplinary programs. The candidate will contribute to these programs; academic advising; and other department initiatives is expected.

This position carries a 3-2 teaching load with a full-salary one-semester research leave prior to tenure review, and generous sabbatical and fellowship leaves for tenured faculty. Tenure track faculty are eligible for travel support and reimbursement of relocation costs within the College’s published policies. QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching at the introductory and advance levels as well as demonstrated scholarly achievement. Ed.D or Ph.D. required.
