Senior Lecturer in Asian Studies for Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN)

Position will teach Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced levels of Hindu-Urdu language. The teaching load will be 3-3, among Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced levels of Hindu-Urdu language courses. This position will also participate on the Foreign Language Committee and contribute to South Asian Language Program development, including to help organize extracurricular South Asian cultural events and teach culture courses. Additional duties may be assigned as required for teaching and University service.

Requires a Ph.D. in Teaching Hindi-Urdu as a Foreign Language, Hindi-Urdu Pedagogy, Hindi-Urdu Linguistics, Linguistics, Foreign Language Education, or related fields. Native or near-native fluency in spoken and written Hindi and Urdu and a strong command of English. Requires one year of language teaching experience.
