About the Bard Early Colleges
Through a tuition-free, credit-bearing college program in the liberal arts and sciences with robust supports, BHSEC schools help high school age students, particularly those at risk of not completing postsecondary education, access, afford, and complete college prepared to contribute to the workforce and civic life. At BHSEC Newark, students have the opportunity to earn up to 60 college credits and an associate in arts (A.A.) degree from Bard College, concurrently with a high school diploma from the Newark Board of Education.
Our educators are passionate about their fields of study and committed to advancing equity through rigorous curricula made accessible to students with varied academic preparation. Candidates will be expected to participate fully in the life of the school, enhancing the positive culture and climate, and helping students to become productive members of the global society and to live purposeful lives.
Position Description
Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Newark, a partnership between Bard College and the Newark Board of Education in Newark, NJ, invites applications for a full-time operations and sustainability coordinator position beginning September 2021.
Successful candidates must be able to support the sustainability and growth efforts of the BHSEC Newark community:work with admissions/recruitment team to maintain incoming cohorts of talented students at no less than 100; support the College Transfer Office in guiding college-level students through the college application process, including college selection, college and financial aid applications, personal statements and essays, as well as alumni network; support Bard grants officer with on-site grant facilitation; and provide operational/personal aide assistance to principal.
Qualifications
Experience with social media marketing, graphic design, and video production in connection with sustainability responsibilities is a plus.
Work authorization in the United States required for all BHSEC Newark faculty and staff positions.
