The School of Engineering Education at Purdue University invites applications for a non-tenure track Faculty of Engineering Practice position at the rank of Assistant or Associate, commensurate with the candidate’s credentials. Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in any engineering disciplinary area, with a desire to promote and provide excellence in engineering education.

Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. in engineering or technology or a related discipline, with at least ten years of industry experience and demonstrate potential to integrate their professional practice with the School of Engineering Education’s research, education, and/or engagement/outreach programs. A background in education, or experience with training or in an instructional setting is preferred. Entrepreneurship/innovation, or government-related work experience will be strongly considered.

 The successful candidate will leverage their extensive experience to substantially lead and support education and engagement efforts and special initiatives related to industry and professional practice for the School of Engineering Education. They will develop and teach courses in undergraduate programs, which may include the first-year program, the Interdisciplinary Engineering Studies & Multidisciplinary Engineering programs, and as appropriate, in the graduate program. They will foster educational collaborations with other schools in the College of Engineering, other colleges across campus, and engage industry partners to foster research opportunities for the School of Engineering Education. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to collegiality and interdisciplinarity. The School of Engineering Education at Purdue University is a vibrant and growing community of scholars who envision ways of transforming engineering education based on scholarship and research. Our programs include First-year Engineering (3,000 students and growing), an accredited undergraduate program in Multidisciplinary Engineering, an undergraduate Interdisciplinary Engineering Studies Program, and the M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Engineering Education. The research interests of our faculty are very diverse and span aspects of engineering education from pre-kindergarten through college and into engineering practice.
