Grove City College invites applications for a permanent faculty position in the Writing Program, pending final budget approval, starting in the spring or fall of 2022. Required qualifications: Ph.D. in Composition/Rhetoric, Technical/Professional Communication, or related field; experience in teaching first-year writing; evidence of teaching excellence; and interest in curricular and program development. The successful candidate will be expected to teach first-year writing, upper-level writing and/or rhetoric courses in areas of expertise, and, if applicable, specialty courses in other areas depending on the candidate’s field. The Grove City College Writing Program is comprised of multidisciplinary faculty, which reflects our approach to teaching writing across the curriculum. We are continuing to expand the course offerings of our newer program and welcome additional areas of expertise. The Writing Program serves the entire college community through our first-year writing course and offers two minors: Creative Writing and Writing with specializations in Professional and Technical Writing. We also offer concentrations in Professional Writing, Creative Writing, Business Writing, Technical Writing, and Science Writing and Reporting.  The Writing Program coordinates the student-staffed Writing Center. The successful candidate should demonstrate a robust commitment to teaching motivated students in the Christian liberal arts tradition and pursue scholarship appropriate to the candidate’s field.
