The Institute of Human Virology (IHV; is seeking an Associate Professor level bioinformatics and computational scientist specializing in integrative multi-omics research in the fields of cancer biology, microbial pathogenesis, immunology and/or infectious diseases. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees with a track record of high-level accomplishments in generating, statistically managing and reporting high-dimensional biological and clinical data sets. Candidates with documented experience in translational multi-omics research are favored. Accepted candidates will benefit from the expertise and ongoing collaborative efforts at the IHV involving the above fields.

Formed in 1996 as a partnership between the State of Maryland, the City of Baltimore, and the University of Maryland, IHV combines the disciplines of basic science, epidemiology and clinical research in a concerted effort to speed the discovery of diagnostics and therapeutics for a wide variety of chronic and deadly microbial infections and immune disorders. As a dynamic research institute at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, all IHV faculty members hold appointments in School of Medicine departments and have access to resources and benefits thereof.
