Job Description


The Manager of Admissions oversees admissions, transcripts, student records, international admissions and front desk services and ensure that all are hired, trained, and managed efficiently and effectively. R emains up to date and to ensure compliance of all THECB standards and those are relayed and met by all admissions personnel. W orks collaboratively with all student services staff to ensure excellent customer service and to brainstorm appropriate enrollment management techniques each semester.


  • Directly oversee all front desk staff and all the functions related to the admissions process and procedures for new, current and transient students; Directly oversee International Admissions and work with the DSO to ensure compliance with all federal regulations for F-1 students; Directly oversee the evaluation of all transcripts, International and non-International, and all other student records pertaining to the admission to the college
  • Distribute information pertaining to the college through the front desk, email and the call center; Information includes, but is not limited to, the activation of student accounts, information regarding holds, test scores, transcripts and other required admissions documents as well as schedule changes (i.e. drops, adds etc.); Problem solve for students having enrollment issues
  • Work with the Director of Admissions and Outreach to hire and train new admissions personnel
  • Work with Director of Admissions and Outreach to develop processes and procedures to ensure compliance with THECB standards pertaining specifically to admissions, student records and registration and ensure all admissions staff are kept up to date about new standards to ensure the integrity of our data
  • Work collaboratively with Advising, Outreach and Financial Aid to ensure excellent customer service to students, not only during peak registration periods, but all throughout the year
  • Work with admissions staff to regularly assess and analyze enrollment data, student records, transcripts (etc.); Work with staff to ensure continuous improvement of transcript evaluation, records keeping and registration
  • Work with Director of Admissions and Outreach and other departments to help plan and organize events, including but not limited to, annual Open Houses, Commencement and other student focused events
  • Sit on committees around the System to potentially create and implement new process and procedures to better assist in the areas of admissions, student records and prior learning assessments
  • Act as the campus Prior Learning Assessment Liaison, to ensure students obtain credits earned through internal and external challenge exams, military experience, work experience, portfolios, and certifications (etc.); Work with campus Deans, Department Chairs, and the campus VPI to obtain approvals for students if needed
  • Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

    The environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as classrooms, offices, meeting and training rooms, and libraries, College-owned vehicles. This requires use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.


    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards


    • Bachelor' s degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience


    Hiring salary range is $46,300 - $53,245.

    Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
