Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Enrollment Counselor for the CCCC Emergency Aid Program will continually engage with current students seeking emergency aid and other basic needs resources. The Enrollment Counselor will use an equity-minded and culturally responsive approach to connect a diverse population of students to federal, state, and local emergency aid while also providing outreach for financial aid applications. This position is responsible for the oversight and reporting of the student aid portion of Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF). The purpose of student aid portion of the HEERF grant awards is to provide emergency aid to students to ensure learning continues during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Enrollment Counselor will maintain a high level of professionalism and will facilitate the CCCC emergency aid application process and disbursement in collaboration with the dean. This position is temporary and funded through the institutional portion of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  1. Consistently engage with students via multiple communication channels, including via phone, in-person, and remote/virtual modalities.
  2. Collaborate with the offices of Financial Aid, Student Wellness, and Student Accounts to promote financial aid resources, emergency aid, and basic needs support.
  3. Professionally assist students through the emergency aid and financial aid processes in accordance with College policies and procedures and in compliance with all applicable regulations and accrediting standards.
  4. Actively case-manage students receiving emergency aid, including basic needs resources, ensuring follow-up to promote and support student success and retention.
  5. Review and determine eligibility for emergency aid applications.
  6. Prepare and disseminate reports for emergency aid disbursement in collaboration with Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts.
  7. Collaborate with departments outside of Enrollment Management to ensure the delivery of a high level of service to every student and to maintain applicable program knowledge.
  8. Professionally and enthusiastically, present information regarding the emergency aid program and financial aid to a diverse population of students.
  9. Perform related duties as directed.



Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, or closely related field; with two years of experience and/or training involving college admissions, enrollment, financial aid, student services; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  2. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.


ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience with a student information enterprise, such as Jenzabar.
  2. Experience using multiple channels for communication.
  3. Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population of students.

Additional Information:

COMPENSATION : $30.03 per hour for 18 hours per week. Period of employment: August 2021 - May 2022. Part-time, Non-benefited, Grant-funded MCCC Unit Position.
