Miami Dade College, Medical Campus is now accepting applications for the Laboratory Manager, Opticianry/Vision Care. The Laboratory Manager plays a key role in the Opticianry/Vision Care program by being responsible for the operations in the Optical and laboratory/clinical settings. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Initiates the purchases of resources necessary to meet program needs

Assures maintenance and repair of equipment

Provides guidance to student assistants and others assigned to the clinic area, in performing basic sales, eyewear dispensing, patient care and front office managerial tasks

Schedules tours of clinic and laboratory upon request

Schedules and prepares laboratories in collaboration with program faculty and other program personnel

Assists the clinical supervisor with managing the reception area, patient care, and follow-up

Interfaces with sales representatives, suppliers, and other optical repair technicians

Maintains budget reports for supplies with supervision of the chairperson and assures receipt of ordered supplies and equipment

Participates in recruitment efforts, health fairs, and other program activities

Assures routine cleaning of physical space and equipment

Provides appropriate OSHA postings, brochures, and equipment and supplies

Assures disposal of industrial waste according to College and OSHA standards

Assures adherence to OSHA requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of related work experience. Must possess active Florida Dispensing Opticianry license
