Job Details

The Program Coordinator supports and assists the department in overseeing FIT's clubs and organizations through training, advising and managing all club and organization activities and programs.

  • Responds to students, parents, faculty, staff and public inquiries and requests by phone, email and in-person.
  • Leads personnel in maintaining a clean and organized professional atmosphere.
  • Ensure operational efficiency through complex calendar management.
  • Participate as an active member of the Student Life team; attend departmental and divisional meetings, retreats, training, and provide support to major department-wide and campus-wide programs.
  • Assist with logistics in relation to the production of events and projects hosted and supported by the Department of Student Life (Ie: Orientation, Family Weekend, Grad Week, Commencement and Concert)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for FIT Club and Organization student leaders, advisors and members
  • Manage the Department's online club and organization software program (FITLink - Campus Labs)
  • Review and approve all club and organization programs in keeping with FIT's risk management policies and protocols
  • Design, implement and access all club and organization related trainings, workshops and meetings
  • Encourage and support multicultural programming via FIT Clubs and Organizations and other campus partners
  • Lead efforts related to Club and Organization recognition and awards process
  • Serve as the co-advisor to the FIT Student Government Association Allocations Committee
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 


Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of two years of student activities, student affairs and multicultural programming experience in a college or university setting.
  • Masters degree in Higher Education, Organizational Leadership, Counseling or related field preferred
  • Experience in advising and coordinating, on and off campus events, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations is required.
  • Experience with club and organization software (Campus Labs / Orgsync / Engage/ Anthropology) preferred
  • Event / Program planning experience in a higher education environment preferred
  • Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work successfully with students, faculty and administrators.  A successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively, both independently and part of a large team. Some evening and weekend hours and required. Excellent human relations, organizational, interpersonal and management skills are also required, in addition to demonstrating strength in budgetary/calendar management. 

 


Additional Information:

M- F 10am-6pm, This position does require evening and weekend availability to support club and organization activities. Work Schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.
