DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:

The Institute of Cannabis Research (ICR) is responsible for implementing cannabis research and dissemination of cannabis research results through initiatives including, but not limited to, hosting an international cannabis research conference, and the publication of its research journal, Journal of Cannabis Research. Its mission is to generate new knowledge of cannabis and its derivatives through research and education that improves lives and contributes to science, medicine, and society.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

The Data Analyst and Technology Manager of the ICR reports to the Director of the ICR. This position involves managing ICR Data (financial and survey data), technology platforms, and communications. This includes account management, managing software employed by the ICR in support of initiatives, such as research funding competitions, managing the ICR’s website, and managing external communications. In addition the person in this position will collaborate as a member of the ICR Team to successful plan and execute ICR initiatives, such as hosting an annual conference and a monthly webinar series.
  Primary Duties
  • Manages technology platforms used by the ICR (e.g. Research Competition Platform and survey platforms).
  • Serves as fiscal officer for ICR operating accounts and fiscal officer delegate on research award accounts.
  • Conducts analyses of ICR financial data, researcher spending, and financial reporting.
  • Updates and manages ICR website (Cascade).
  • Data management: Assists ICR and researchers with data gathering/systems, analysis/statistics, and reporting (data output/tables and graphs)
  • Manages external communications and communication system.
  • Participates in and contributes to ICR events and initiatives (e.g. annual conference and webinar series).

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
  • Able to manage multiple projects to a timely conclusion in a fast paced environment with competing time demands
  • Able to develop effective working relationships with colleagues, superiors, subordinates, and the general public
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of all aspects of Microsoft Office products, including Excel spreadsheets, graphing, and charting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from accredited institution
  • Experience creating presentations and publications
  • Experience using Cascade for website management
  • Experience with Kuali Financial System
