Job Description

The Department of Supply Chain Management in the W. P. Carey School of Business has several, part-time openings for a Research Specialist PRN.  The successful candidates should be able to provide design and execution of multiple projects involving application of programming, data analysis skills, and documentation methods.  The successful candidates must be self-motivated individuals who can work independently. Some work will be conducted remotely, so access to the internet and a computer are required. This is a short-term (6-8 week) position working on a project for the Arizona Lottery.

Essential Duties

  • Design and execute multiple projects involving application of programing, data analysis and documentation methods
  • Document questions, seek answers from appropriate databases and websites
  • Performs analysis, document results and create documents fulfilling project statement of work
  • Work closely with faculty facilitators to ensure completion of projects in accordance within specified timelines
  • Work hours vary depending on research needs

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND two years related research or archaeological experience; OR, Six years research or archaeological experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Evidence of a Master of Science in Business Analytics and/or Master of Science in Global Logistics
  • Data analysis skills such as R, Python Excel Statistics, etc.
  • Evidence of completed Capstone Project with AZ Lottery 
  • Experience interacting with a diverse population 
  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Evidence of problem solving, decision-making, organizational and customer service skills
  • MUST BE AN APPROVED APPLICANT OF THE OPTIONAL PRACTICAL TRAINING (OPT) PROGRAM

Working Environment

  • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Use office equipment including a desktop computer.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties.
