Job Description


The Director, Career, Technology and Continuing Education provides leadership, supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance for non-credit programs and CE programs at the campus. The position is r esponsible for oversight of CTE/CE programs and classes using a profit center budget model. The Director collaborates with area agencies, volunteer associations, community-based organizations, and other clients and partners to address and meet their needs. Also coordinates the negotiation of contracts for use with off-site facilities and for the provision of CTE/CE services.


  • Supervise a nd evaluate the CTE/CE programs
  • Provide direction and support to the satel lite campus coordinator, the Manager, Division Operations and other staff as needed
  • Oversees the department budget
  • Recruit and h ire Adjunct Faculty and staff; e nsure proper training and orientation of instructors and s taff
  • Promote non-credit workforce and community classes and programs to ensure strong student enrollment growth and stability
  • Collaborate with area agencies, community-based organizations, and other partners to address and meet their needs
  • Advocate for and represent Corporate and Continuing Education to the local comm unity, college administration, faculty, and s taff; promotes through presentations and ongoing contact with chambers, civic organizations, economic development entities, and communit y-based and state organizations
  • Provide student ' s academic ad vising by phone or face to face
  • Serve as an effective team member on campus committees and councils, Workfor ce Council and curriculum teams
  • Analyze stati stical data for decision-making
  • Participate in and coordinate the development of contracts of un derstanding with other entities

    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.


    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

    Hiring salary range is $65,140 - $74,911

    Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
