Position Information Working Title:  Executive Continuing Education & Community Engagement Officer
UW System Title:  Director of Continuing Education Essential Job Functions

This position reports to the Provost & Vice Chancellor and has overall administrative, fiscal, programmatic, personnel and strategic responsibility for continuing education and community engagement. CECE serves as an incubator for the university, where the Executive Director provides university-wide leadership for credit and non-credit based certificates, badges, and courses related to workforce and professional development and targeted student populations. The Executive Director establishes and facilitates strategic partnerships to support the growth and execution of programs in response to educational and market needs. This position promotes stable and productive relationships with university stakeholders, and between the university and local community. The Executive Director oversees all continuing professional education programming and personnel for all campus locations (Green Bay, Manitowoc, Sheboygan, and Marinette). CECE is central to the strategy of UW-Green Bay meeting its mission as an access university.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Directs the development of long range and short term strategic plans and initiatives to further the growth of CECE and the university.
  • Directs the organizational strategic goals of the programs and unit.
  • Directs unit personnel and budgeted activities.
  • Serves as liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information and representing interest of CECE.
  • Develops and monitors the budget, including a mix of federal, state, and program revenue.
  • Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked.
  • Builds connections with K-12 schools to increase creative ways to deliver college credit to high school students.
  • Drives the expansion of badges, certificates, and non-credit education to people currently in the labor force.
Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree at time of application 
  • 5 years of leadership experience 
  • Proven capacity as an innovative, entrepreneurial leader 
  • Demonstrated success in generating and managing multiple funding sources 
  • Experience in program development
  • Proven experience in and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working with diverse underrepresented and first-generation students on a college/university campus 
  • Experience developing and managing collaborative partnerships
  • Experience in research and grant writing 
  • Clear vision for the future of higher education with credit and non-credit opportunities

Travel, evenings, and weekends as neceaary to meet the needs of the Division. 

Position is a full-time Limited appointment.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s).  A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s).  In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, the university does not discriminate on the basis of arrest or conviction record.

Salary

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
