Position Purpose

This position is responsible for managing the Supporting Indigenous Arts through Mastery (SIAM) higher education grant program which awards multi-year grants to higher education institutions that demonstrate a philosophy of service, respect, and consultation with Tribes that elevates autonomy, agency, and expertise of Tribes in their work to support and advance artistic mastery in their communities. Responsibilities include authoring and working with senior Longhouse staff to finalize the application process and criteria for application, managing the online grant application portal, overseeing invitations to apply, providing assistance to institutions in the submission process, processing applications, and working with the Longhouse Advisory board to make the multi-year grant awards to institutions that demonstrate a philosophy of service, respect, and consultation with Tribes that elevates autonomy, agency, and expertise of Tribes in their work to support and advance artistic mastery in their communities.

 

Once the grants have been awarded, this position regularly engages with the institutions to provide technical assistance on grant deliverables and evaluation instruments. The incumbent conducts site visits, reviews institutional reports and evaluations, incorporating information into annual reports, and assists in preparing funding proposals for each new SIAM higher education grant cycle. The position also supervises one support position.

 

This is a full-time, overtime eligible project position on the Olympia Campus of The Evergreen State College. The position is grant funded through June 30, 2024 and dependent on continued grant funding.

 

Salary and Benefits: $4,328 – $5,830 per month of full-time work + excellent benefits including paid sick and vacation leave; paid campus holidays; a generous medical, dental, life, and disability insurance package; and a tuition waiver program.
