Director of Enterprise & Applications Systems - Ferris State University. The Director of Enterprise, Applications & Infrastructure services is a technical service management position responsible for the on-going assessment of technology needs related to the University's computing systems and the management of those systems. Directs a large and diverse group of applications analysts, system and network administrators in support of University strategy and mission. Plan, facilitate and coordinate the implementation, maintenance and integration of academic, educational, and business applications used by the University. Collaborate with institutional divisions, colleges, administrative business units, and steering committees to ensure that University priorities are implemented and maintained in a cost-effective manner. Develop and recommend policies, procedures and technical guidelines. Promote the implementation of new and emerging technologies in support of the University strategy. Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Management, or related discipline. Five years of progressively responsible management experience in a large, complex higher education or comparable environment that involved implementation and prioritization of multiple software applications, technology-related projects. Experience with related IT infrastructure including experience in telecommunications, networking, server hardware, operating systems, infrastructure software, configurations, administrative and academic computing. Experience in building and supervising talented teams. Demonstrated expertise in use, implementation, and administration of information management systems. Experience managing projects, applications integration, and database environments. Experience with data networks and server-based and cloud-based computer systems. Self-starting, strategic thinker with leadership qualities such as: skilled communicating; visionary outlook; willingness to initiate change; ability to motivate employees; tech savvy; ability to manage expectations. Ability to administer and support multiple enterprise level Microsoft on premise and cloud platforms (like Active Directory, SharePoint, Azure, and Office 365 ecosystem).
