The University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking candidates for two faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor commensurate with experience and qualifications. The positions are without tenure due to funding (WOT). Selected faculty will be hired as either full- or part-time regular faculty and will have a 12-month service period. The University of Washington has a variety of practice sites within the Seattle area and these faculty openings would be for University of Washington Medical Center. We anticipate the first hire to take place in late 2021.

Position duties include providing inpatient and/or outpatient psychiatric or psychological treatment; establishing an independent research program in an area of behavioral health, and teaching psychology and psychiatric trainees. 

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have completed training in clinical psychology (completed internship in clinical psychology) or psychiatry (completed residency).

Candidates holding a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Psychology are sought for the treatment of patients with mental health issues or substance abuse problems, in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. Candidates holding an M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent who have completed training in psychiatry are needed for inpatient psychiatric attending work, hospital consultation, and outpatient consultation.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
