At the heart of UCLA is the College of Letters and Science. The College encompasses 34 academic departments, 40 specialized programs, and organized research units, with over 28,000 students and more than 1000 staff members.

The College is seeking a strategic Director of Human Resources capable of creating a culture of productivity and engagement while providing foresighted leadership in all areas of Human Resources Administration including staff recruitment and retention, compensation, performance review oversight, job classification evaluation, counseling and discipline, performance management, risk management, and training.

The keys to success in this position are negotiating solutions to complex problems involving multiple stakeholders, occasionally with competing interests.The ideal candidate will have experience with a broad range of employment fields, including experience staffing contract and grants positions.

The successful candidate will be a change agent with a vision that works on behalf of the College while fostering a balanced relationship with UCLA Campus Human Resources.

Reporting to the divisional Deans, the Director exercises independent judgment to make recommendations to the Deans on a wide variety of HR issues.
