Performs a variety of duties such as: taking food and drink orders from customers, operating computerized cash registers, preparing espresso and other made to order drinks, as well as, various food production duties according to established procedures. Performs various cleaning tasks. Education/Skills Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Applicants must be able to perform simple math calculations; follow written directions; and possess good interpersonal and customer service skills. Applicants must possess demonstrated reliability and ability to work quickly and efficiently, must be able to work independently within a team atmosphere, and must demonstrate good personal hygiene practices. Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
Experience with computers and/or computerized cash register systems in food service is highly desirable, as is a background in customer service. Willingness and ability to be quickly trained is essential. NIFI certification preferred, or must be obtained within one year of employment. Standard Work Days and Hours
Primarily daytime shifts including occasional overtime, weekends, holidays and during weather emergencies. Required to work for major college events and weekends. About Bowdoin
