The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering at Rowan University invites applications for the position of Department Head of Chemical Engineering . The successful candidate should have demonstrable experience in managing academic programs, working with faculty, staff, students, alumni, industry, other administration officials, and government funding agencies.

The Chemical Engineering Department has a well-established and nationally recognized undergraduate education program, and it is now seeking to expand its graduate research component. The new and rapidly growing PhD program and recent facilities expansion and renovation will help support this endeavor. The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering is searching for a Head who will lead the Chemical Engineering Department in achieving the growth of the department’s research activity and funding expenditures while maintaining and enhancing the ongoing core mission of delivering a first-class undergraduate education. Qualifications:

Candidates should have a doctoral degree in chemical engineering or a related field. The successful candidate should also possess an outstanding and demonstrable record of leadership, undergraduate and graduate teaching in chemical engineering, student mentoring and advising, and a sustained and successful externally funded research program to warrant an appointment at the rank of Professor with tenure in the department. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are also required. In addition, a strong commitment to supporting and promoting a diverse and inclusive working and learning environment is expected.

The starting date is July 1, 2020 and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
