Position Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master’s degree in a Student Development, Education, Counseling or Psychology from a regionally accredited institution
  • A minimum of five years of experience in higher education student services
  • A minimum of three years of experience directly supervising professional staff
  • A minimum of three years of experience in enrollment management
  • Proficient in oral and written communication in the English language
  • Capacity to provide strong leadership and management
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize administrative applications of information technology
  • Experience with student conduct and behavioral issues
  • Demonstrated understanding of and belief in the comprehensive mission of community colleges
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty & staff and other stakeholders important to the college
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social services agencies and resources available to students to assist them in overcoming non-academic barriers
  • Ability to maintain a high level of ethics, professionalism and confidentiality in performance of all duties
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in a community college setting or demonstrated commitment to the community college philosophy
  • Experience working with dual enrollment
  • Experience providing academic advising
  • Extensive demonstrated experience and knowledge of financial aid

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision to departments and functions within the Student Services Division including Enrollment Management, Admissions, Financial Aid, Counseling/Advising, Career Development, New Student Orientation, Student Activities, Success and Career Coaches, Student Discipline, and Federal TRIO programs
  • Update and implement the enrollment management plan
  • Supervise the dual enrollment program
  • Work with faculty, the Coordinator of Public Relations and the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services to market college programs
  • Prepare and administer the division budget
  • Represent the college at professional meetings
  • Provide academic advising to curricular and noncurricular students
  • Manage, develop and oversee the student conduct process
  • Recruit, select, evaluate and supervise personnel
  • Fulfill other functions as assigned by the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty & staff and other stakeholders important to the college

 

Position:

A 12-month position. Rank and salary dependent on academic preparation, qualifications and experience. Reappointment based on performance evaluations and institutional needs. Selected applicant will be required to complete the Commonwealth’s Statement of Economic Interest.
