Position Summary/Purpose:

The College of Arts and Sciences at North Park University seeks applications for multiple adjunct Chemistry Faculty in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for the Fall 2021 semester.

 

The successful adjunct candidate will be committed to teaching in a multicultural environment and welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning abilities. We expect to have full in-person instruction for Fall semester and depending on the conditions with covid, be able to pivot to online instruction as needed. Adjunct Faculty instructors are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom settings. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluations, and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field, or a master’s degree plus 18 semester hours of graduate-level credit in Chemistry
  • Prior experience teaching Chemistry courses at the college-level is desirable.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching organic chemistry (laboratory and lecture)
  • Experience teaching remotely with technology in online or virtual teaching mode with access to personal technology, including a home computer
