About the Opportunity:
The Khoury College of Computer Sciences is seeking a dynamic Faculty Affairs Coordinator who will provide integral support to the Manager of Faculty Affairs and the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. This role will report to the Manager of Faculty Affairs. Under the direction of the Manager of Faculty Affairs they will work as part of an administrative team supporting the day to day operations of a busy, academic environment, with a focus on faculty affairs. The area of the Academic Affairs team requires an individual with proven skills in handling confidential materials, and handling sensitive situations in a calm, thoughtful and professional manner. The Faculty Affairs coordinator must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide information and service to a wide range of internal and external contacts.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is resourceful, a good problem solver, proactive, and very organized. The Faculty Affairs Coordinator will provide, calendar, travel, expense, and clerical support, and may assist with projects and other duties as needed. They will also help with the booking and scheduling of rooms, room and space set up, managing and troubleshooting meeting technology, and preparing meeting materials. They will provide administrative support to several faculty committees including but not limited to the Distinguished Lecture, Merit Committee, Awards Committee, Sabbatical Committee, and the Bylaws Committee. Each spring they will assist the Khoury administrative team with faculty hiring including sending out announcements, calendar assistance, and setting up virtual and in-person events. They will work closely with the Khoury Dean's Office team as well as with faculty and staff across the University. All of these duties require high attention to detail and the ability to work effectively, and with deep discretion, under multiple deadlines. This position requires an individual that has a calm demeanor and approaches situations in a thoughtful and professional manner. This position will serve as back up to the dean's administrative team and be assigned other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required with 2 - 4 years of office experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in higher education and/or faculty affairs.

A successful candidate will have a high degree of flexibility, diplomacy, customer service and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Able to work independently but within strategic framework. A successful candidate will be comfortable taking initiative, but also knows when to ask for help.

Must possess exceptional calendar management skills.

Must possess strong interpersonal, oral, written, and time management skills, along with tact, poise, mature judgement, diplomatic skills, and discretion.

Must be able to handle sensitive material, maintain highest level of confidentiality, set priorities and work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize in fast-paced and high-pressure environment; accuracy and attention to detail; excellent judgment; demonstrate courteous and professional manner; diplomacy and problem-solving skills.

Must be able to maintain high level of confidentiality.

Exemplary communication, time management and organizational skills required. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively on behalf of the college.

Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database software. Wiki confluence and LaTeX experience a plus, but not required.

Proficiency in answering and directing phone callers.
