San Antonio College is a Hispanic-Serving Institution with a population of approximately 20,000 students. 33% are Pell Grant recipients, 9% are veterans, 80% are enrolled part-time, and 60% are female. We serve 62% Latinx, 24% White, 8% Black or African American, 3% Asian, and 3% other (including American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander) student populations. We seek an administrator whose leadership and practices reflect a commitment to equity. It is also essential that the administrator have demonstrated ability in supporting faculty on developing course content and educational practices with and for diverse populations who have the ability to communicate issues and concerns faced by racially minoritized students.

 

Job Summary and Description

Serves as the chief academic officer of the College and is responsible for overseeing the various academic units, while maintaining the academic excellence and integrity of the institution. The Vice President ensures that the College operates in accord with the policies of the Board of Trustees, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), and its various accrediting agencies.

Reports to the President of the College and collaborates closely with the Vice Chancellors.

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Five years of teaching and administrative experience in higher education.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  •  Doctorate preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license. Must be insurable through the organization’s insurers.

 

Motor Vehicle Report is required in addition to background check and drug screen
