The primary purpose of the position is to develop, direct, and
administer services that involve direct interaction with students
and enhance their academic and learning experiences outside of the
classroom setting. The position provides leadership, oversight, and
empowers student staff to develop and foster fitness/wellness
programs that promote student learning, development, and success.
The Assistant Director of Fitness/Wellness directs and manages a
comprehensive fitness/wellness program, including fitness staff
training, group fitness, personal/small group training, fitness
assessments/screenings and fitness outreach that inspires
engagement opportunities in a safe, inclusive, and accessible
environment.Bachelor's degree in health fitness, recreation,
physical education, sport management or related field.
Two years of experience in the fitness field (graduate assistant
Certification from a nationally recognized association in group
exercise and/or personal training.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing fitness
programs, policies and procedures.
Development of staff training and development experience.
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive interpersonal relations
with faculty, staff, work associates and program
Ability to conduct program assessment.
Certified in First Aid and CPR.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
