School of Accounting

Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor

The School of Accounting in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina is seeking a high-potential faculty member who aspires to excellence in teaching and research for a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor position beginning August 16, 2022. Teaching loads and summer support are competitive with other top-level accounting positions. All faculty searches are subject to the availability of funding.

The position requires a PhD in accounting or a closely related field by the start of employment (ABDs considered). Candidates for the Assistant rank must have potential for excellence in teaching, and research in top-tier journals. Candidates for the Associate rank must have an earned PhD in accounting or closely-related field, at least 5 years of relevant academic experience beyond the PhD, and a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and research in top tier journals. Candidates with expertise in experimental/behavioral research are especially encouraged to apply.

Department of International Business

Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor

The Sonoco International Business Department, Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina https://sc.edu/study/colleges_schools/moore/study/interntional_business/index.php is seeking candidates for a tenure track faculty position in the area of international Business at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Associate Professor with tenure, to begin January 1, 2022 or August 16, 2022.

The primary vision for the Sonoco International Business Department is to play a leading role in conducting high impact research and delivering world-class education in international business. While diverse in disciplinary backgrounds and specific research agendas, the faculty in the department share an overarching common interest in understanding the multinational enterprise and the institutional context within which it is embedded. Faculty include Omrane Guedhami, Tatiana Kostova, Chuck Kwok, Sali Li, Gerald McDermott, Rob Rolfe, Kendall Roth, Marc van Essen, Hildy Teegen, Nancy Buchan, Stanislav Markus, Andrew Spicer, Christopher Yenkey, Elisa Alvarez-Garrido, Michael Murphree, Ken Erickson, David Hudgens, Wolfgang Messner and Daniel Ostergaard. We offer a wide range of international business-oriented programs. Our undergraduate international business major has been ranked #1 for 21 consecutive years. The flagship international MBA has been consistently ranked in the top 1 or 2 international business programs in U.S. in the last 25 years. The Master in International Business program offers dual degrees with prominent universities from around the world including Bocconi (Italy), ESCP-Paris (France), University of Mannheim (Germany), Aalto University (Finland), ESSEC (France), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China) and Koc University (Turkey). The Department also has a vibrant PhD program specializing in international business research.

All applicants must have a PhD in a relevant business field (e.g., business administration, strategy, management or similar) with demonstrated focus on international business by the beginning date of employment. Applicants must demonstrate either potential for (Assistant rank) or a proven record of (Associate rank) excellence in research and teaching as evidenced by publications in top academic outlets and by a strong disciplinary and regional/country area of expertise applied to understanding international business phenomena at the organizational and/or institutional level. In addition, applicants at the Associate rank must have at least four years of relevant academic experience. High priority areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, global sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and non-market strategy.

The Marketing Department in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina is seeking a high-potential member who aspires to excellence in research and teaching. The Department invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position beginning August 16, 2022. Teaching loads and summer support are competitive with other top-level marketing positions. All faculty searches are subject to the availability of funding.

The position requires a PhD in marketing or a closely related field by the start date of employment (ABDs considered). The ability to publish in top-tier marketing journals is important. Research and teaching interest in digital marketing will be an advantage.
