Job Description:

The Videographer and Producer serves as a creative specialist and is responsible for the shooting, development and editing of video content to be used in multiple marketing vehicles including Dean's branded web site and athletic web site and multiple Dean College social media sites. 

Thorough collaboration is required with the AVP of Marketing and Communications and campus partners on the creation and production of impactful video content to ensure that all communications related to the College's reputation, programs and initiatives are accurate, fair, and supportive of the Mission of Dean College.

This individual will interact with senior leadership, deans, faculty, students, and alumni, most commonly in meetings and conversations that serve as a basis for stories and filming opportunities. The ideal candidate is a filmmaker with the ability to identify various public relations and video opportunities and the communication skills to bring these opportunities to fruition.

Job Duties

This individual will be the team expert for Dean College's video efforts and accountable for the effective creation of this content.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Strengthen the Dean College brand and promote the College by serving as the lead videographer for marketing content to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Independently produces, sets up, records, captures, and edits media production projects and media-related materials, including digital videos, audio files, and other electronic media for Dean College Athletics and other departments, including key college sporting and other events;
  • Assist with the marketing and promotion of various branding and special events;
  • Assist social media coordinator with crafting content for posts, ensuring content is both creative and informative. Experience with social media campaigns, knowledge of digital marketing and SEO highly recommended;
  • Maintains compliance with ADA and ensures all viewable public videos are closed-captioned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Video Production, Broadcasting, Communications, or a related field, required;
  • Three or more years of professional experience in a video producing capacity, required;
  • Experience in a marketing/communications environment, required;
  • Experience with social media campaigns, knowledge of digital marketing, and SEO, preferred;
  • Extensive editing knowledge using Adobe premiere, and Adobe Creative Suite applications, required;
  • Experience with motion graphics production to enhance video footage and standalone videos for social media, required;
  • Experience with posting videos on YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter, and other online platforms, required;
  • Experience with file transfer platforms such as Dropbox, required;
  • Excellent editing and verbal communication skills, required;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, in both individual and team settings, required;
  • Strong storytelling skills, required;
  • Experience in higher education, preferred;
  • COVID-19 Vaccination, required.
