Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Worldwide campus is currently hiring adjunct faculty to teach UNSY 502, Current Issues in Unmanned Systems.

Course Description

Examines state-of-the-art technologies and issues that affect the unmanned systems industry. Through tailored discussions and written deliverables, students demonstrate knowledge of current topics to include regulation, systems development, systems integration and systems applications. Other topics may be examined at the instructor’s discretion based on the current state of industry.

Qualifications

Applicant Qualifications

A minimum of a Doctorate degree in discipline or a Master of Science in Aeronautics (MSA) is required (please see list of acceptable disciplines below), as well as relevant industry experience from within the last 7 years.

  • Amateur Radio License (Technician, General, and Amateur Extra classes) {The National Association for Amateur Radio}
  • Certified Human Factors Professional (CHFP) {Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics}
  • Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) {Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics}
  • Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) {Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers}
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) {International Council on Systems Engineering}
  • Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) {International Council on Systems Engineering}
  • Professional Engineer (PE) {state licensure board}
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) {Project Management Institute}
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) {Project Management Institute}
  • Rated Military Flight Officer or FAA Certified Airman or any professional certification related to research, design, development, test and evaluation, or application of unmanned systems.
Degrees Within the Teaching Discipline
  • Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology (PhD)
  • Master of Science in Aeronautics (MSA)
