Schedule Information: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm. Employee is on call 24/7/52 to respond to campus security and/or safety problems. Employee must carry and maintain a personal cellular telephone, subject to College business use reimbursement rules.

Hours per Week: 37.5

Duties of Position: As an integral part of the senior leadership team, The Chief Information Officer serves as the principal technology leader for the institution. The CIO leads and manages the Information Technology Services division with a budget exceeding $11 million.

Responsible for providing the vision and leadership delivering information technology strategies across the institution to enable better teaching and learning in multiple modalities, operational excellence and best practices for maintaining data security. The CIO reports to the Executive Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services and serves on the President’s Learning Council.

Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion by recruiting and retaining employees from diverse backgrounds and eliminating barriers to success of all students.

Maintains a vision for future technology needs and recommends strategies, priorities and projects that will enable the College to meet its strategic goals and mission.

Identifies and implements technology solutions to enable best-in-class operational excellence.

Facilitates best practices and cutting-edge technology to maintain data security.

Develops and leads a cross-functional technology governance structure to address the college’s most critical technology issues such as educational technology, data security, administrative systems and data & analytics.

Leads IT strategic and tactical planning in order to address institutional goals that foster innovation and prioritize strategic initiatives.

Manages IT systems and resources to ensure continued high-quality services.

Maintains the integrity and strategic development of the institution’s information and communications infrastructure for mission critical functions, ensuring optimal performance of the networks, computer systems and cloud operations.

Continuously improves an IT organizational structure as technology changes and organizational needs evolve.

Identifies the most cost-effective investment of financial resources for IT systems, staffing, daily operations, project implementation, product purchases and/or contract negotiations.

Responsible for the annual budget process for institutional technology needs; develops annual IT operational and capital budgets; develops and maintains the institution’s IT strategic plan.

Ensures processes are in place for IT data security, risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity, and that these processes are reviewed regularly to remain current and comprehensive.

Partners with academic and administrative constituents to identify emerging technologies and implement them to fulfill the organization’s mission.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required with preference for a Masters’ degree in information technology, business, computer science, or relevant field.

Experience Requirements: At least seven years increasingly responsible experience in information technology including demonstrated success as a department head or other senior management level. Direct experience managing large scale budgets and funding models for at least five years. 5 years of IT leadership in higher education is strongly preferred.
