About the Opportunity:
The Associate Director of Enrollment Analytics will work closely with the Assistant VP of Enrollment Analytics and the VP of Enrollment Management, his direct reports and their operational reporting leads to ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of the Enrollment Management division's reporting requirements as well as enhancing and maintaining an analytic infrastructure for student data analysis.

The Associate Director will manage the division's Tableau reporting environment through:
  • The development and maintenance of reports and dashboards related to all aspects of enrollment management from student recruitment and admissions, through to student persistence and graduation.
  • Managing Tableau Server access, data security, user roles and permissions
  • Providing consultation and support to end users on the use of the platform and soliciting and incorporating feedback on potential enhancements
  • Overseeing the overall structure of the reporting environment with regard to its organization and consistency across reports

    Responsibilities:
    The Associate Director will be responsible for working with Undergraduate Admissions to ensure data quality and consistency; working with EM units to ensure efficient passing of data between systems, facilitating resolution of data discrepancies, working with University Decision Support to produce data for internal and external reporting and work with Data Administration to ensure the successful passage of data to the Operational Data Store and Warehouse. He/she will ensure that data can meet standard and ad hoc reporting and analytical needs, develops and standardizes reporting procedures utilizing streamlined reporting activities and processes, and establishes efficient methods of prioritizing, monitoring and reporting.

    The Associate Director will serve as the unit's Subject Matter Expert, providing support to the University's community of data analysts with regard to admissions data, and serving on various university committees related to data standards

    The Associate Director performs or works with offices across the University to perform ad hoc data requests pertaining to admissions and enrollment data;

    The Associate Director will be responsible for the tracking and reporting of Enrollment Management goals and Key Performance Indicators.

    The Associate Director will work closely with the Assistant VP of Enrollment Analytics on executing advanced statistical modeling projects seeking to predict student behavior.

    The Associate Director will work closely with the Enrollment Management division, Business Intelligence and other key departments to identify key business requirements for technological enhancements or any analytical systems/databases needs and issues.

    This individual must be able to effectively manage the team's Assistant Director, setting a clear direction and goals and ensuring these goals are being met in a timely manner. The Associate Director must be proficient at determining what functions/tasks can be delegated to ensure all staff are being utilized in the most efficient way.

    Qualifications:
    Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, Master's preferred;
  • At least 6-8 years demonstrated experience in a data analyst or reporting role;
  • Advanced practical experience with data management, reporting, analysis and data visualization software (Tableau, Alteryx, R, Python, SPSS, Cognos, etc);
  • Demonstrated ability to understand various data structures and common methods in data extraction and transformation;
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, recognize patterns and provide informed recommendations for decision making.
  • Proficiency disseminating analyses to non-technical audiences for strategic decision-making, both in written and presentation formats;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effective customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and activities yet maintain attention to detail

    Preferred:
  • Experience in Higher Education
  • Experience writing SQL code to query databases
  • Experience managing analytics professionals

    Salary Grade:
    12
