 SEARCH FOR THE

VICE PRESIDENT, BUDGET, FINANCIAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS

NEW YORK UNIVERSITY

 NEW YORK, NY

THE SEARCH

New York University (NYU), one of the nation’s premier institutions of higher education, seeks an experienced and innovative financial leader to serve as its next Vice President, Budget, Financial Planning and Analysis (VP). The VP manages the university’s comprehensive $3.8 billion annual operating budget and assists in the management of the $3 billion ten-year capital plan.

New York University has established itself as a leading research university, distinctive in its cosmopolitan character, global outlook, and the boldness of its ambitions. Among the largest private universities in the United States, NYU has a breadth and depth rivaled by few others, ranging widely over undergraduate liberal arts and sciences, the creative and performing arts, and professional artistic and technical disciplines.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Budget/Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the VP is responsible for leading all aspects of NYU’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. The VP will work in close partnership with the offices of the Executive Vice President and the CFO, along with the colleges, schools, and units that comprise NYU globally to ensure a successful budget that supports NYU’s mission and strategic goals. The VP will be an excellent communicator, cultivating a service orientation and building partnerships across the university, and working regularly with the Board of Trustees, President, Provost, EVP, and CFO.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial leader with at least 15 years of increasingly responsible contributions to financial planning, management, and analysis in a complex organization. The VP will be a hands-on collaborator, and data-driven leader who has experience across many areas such as financial planning and analysis, including annual planning, quarterly outlooks, long-range planning, and balance sheet management. The VP will be comfortable using a collaborative approach to partner with the heads of NYU schools and to provide timely insightful analysis, reliable financial projections, and creative solutions to organizational opportunities and challenges.
