Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in Chinese
Language Education in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 507863),
to commence on August 1, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter, on
a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of
Applicants should have a Master’s degree or above in a relevant
discipline, a professional teaching qualification, and at least 10
years’ teaching experience in Chinese Language Education in
secondary schools in Hong Kong. Those who are able to demonstrate
innovation in teaching Chinese Language, and knowledge of and
experience in Chinese curriculum and assessment in local secondary
schools, school-based curriculum development, and local school
management will be preferred.
The appointee will take up substantial teaching responsibilities at
undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including courses related to
Chinese Language Education in the secondary school setting. He/She
will also undertake school practicum supervision, and assume
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and
experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical
benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of
gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity
and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme,
totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
