Position Summary:
The Idaho Asia Institute and the School of Journalism and Mass Media at the University of Idaho invite applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Asian Cinema or Media Studies with research interests that include East Asia to begin on a negotiated start date between September 1, 2021 to January 12, 2022. Fellows will pursue their own research, teach two undergraduate courses per annum (as determined by the needs of the School and the Institute), and assist with the Institute's administrative and outreach functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in an appropriate field required by start of the position
- Research focus on Asian Cinema or Media Studies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Research interest and focus that includes East Asian Cinema or Media Studies;
- Prior experience teaching and mentoring students from diverse cultural backgrounds;
- Experience teaching introductory classes at the college level, such as Film History & Aesthetics, Global Film Styles, Media & Society, Multimedia Storytelling or Media Writing.
