Administrative Financial Specialist
Location: Moscow

Position Summary:
The Administrative Financial Specialist performs a variety of complex, high volume financial and administrative operations in support of the Office of Research and Economic Development and the Fiscal Operations Unit with minimal supervision and with extreme accuracy in a time sensitive manner. Fiscal duties include processing financial documents and transactions; producing financial reports by analyzing and researching financial history; reconciling financial transactions; and communicating laws, rules, and policies to the Office of Research and Economic Development constituents. Administrative support functions include maintaining and monitoring Office of Research and Economic Development equipment; assisting with travel arrangements; conducting annual inventory and insurance certificate renewal; and general office duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED. • Two years related work experience in bookkeeping, administrative support or office management.
• Experience interpreting, applying, and explaining policies and procedures.
• Researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports in a spreadsheet application.
• Using computer software and applications for financial transactions, word processing, email, internet searches, and data organization.
• Working independently and as part of a team.
• Editing and writing business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials.
• Working in a customer service environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a business related field; four years of experience in a financial and/or higher education job.
• Experience:
- Working with financial operating systems such as BANNER, Argos or other systems to enter, retrieve and edit financial data.
- Working in a higher education, public or governmental organizations.
- Balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects.
• Knowledge of:
- Standard accounting principles and budgeting procedures.
- MS Office Suite or other similar office management software including intermediate to high-level user of MS Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.)
• Skills:
- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
