Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, is seeking applications for a full-time Director of Financial Aid to join our community and to lead the College’s financial aid program.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with financial aid policies and regulations and serving as the College’s primary authority on financial aid requirements.
  • Preparing reports for various governing agencies.
  • Directing and assisting with the packaging of financial aid for new and current students, including awarding and adjusting financial aid and scholarships from internal and external sources.
  • Preparing the annual financial aid budget, forecasting trends, and yearly balancing of funds with federal and state agencies and the College Business Office.
  • Representing the financial aid office to various agencies, auditors, high schools, scholarship foundations, professional associations, and current and prospective students and their families.
  • Assisting and advising the Vice President of Admissions and Financial Aid on how best to market and utilize limited institutional, federal, and state funds to maximize retention of current students and recruit new students.
  • Evaluating the satisfactory academic progress of students as it relates to financial aid.
  • Managing, developing, and supervising the financial aid staff.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.  Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least three years of financial aid experience at the college level.  Previous experience in a private, non-profit college setting is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer applications and systems (e.g., MS Office, financial aid software).
  • Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately and with discretion.
