Summary

The section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Baylor College of Medicine is looking to hire a Research Coordinator I to coordinate day-to-day operations of Dr. Jason Hou's research protocols. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with patients directly, including screening and determining study eligibility. Additional duties include maintaining and initiating IRB protocols, clinical study execution, medical record review, literature review, survey administration, data entry, and basic data analysis. The ideal candidate must be organized, able to multitask, work with patients, and be able to problem solve.

Job Duties
  • Interviews, screens and recruits patients for Dr. Hou's various study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study.
  • Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database.
  • Manages database and present data to PI weekly.
  • Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies.
  • Retrieves and submits test results to appropriate party.
  • Corresponds with patient throughout study.
  • Orders supplies and equipment.
  • Processes blood specimens.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Prior expereince with IRBs.
