A successful candidate will play an active role in FMU's existing academic success. The Education Technologist will serve as the campus champion for the integration and achievement of credentials, certifications, badges, and other micro-credentials across all academic programs; assist with the integration of pedagogical best practices toward the integration of career-readiness competencies into existing curriculum and instruction for faculty; train students directly as a part of regular co-curricular career-readiness programs.

Essential Duties:

  • Promote the integration of credentials, certifications, badges, and other micro-credentials across all academic programs.
  • Lead professional development and training for faculty in the area of credentialing and certifications.
  • Provide students with opportunities to develop the skills and competencies essential for success in the global workforce.
  • Coordinate the integration of career-readiness activities into First-Year Experience courses (FMU 101 and FMU 102).
  • Serve as the administrator for LinkedIn Learning, YouScience, and Florida Ready to Work, as enterprise resources for career-readiness training.
  • Provide assistance and technical support to faculty, staff, and students utilizing career-readiness software programs and related technologies.
  • Serve as a liaison between FMU and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
  • Monitor market trends and update relevant community program information and market data, especially as it concerns in-demand credentials and certifications.
  • Remain current in industry trends and related technology.
  • Participate in regular professional development opportunities.
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to create innovative opportunities to foster students’ growth and development.
  • Collaborate with iROAR staff and other campus stakeholders in the execution of program goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the iROAR Ambassadors Program.
  • Expose students to co-curricular experiences which are designed to help them to establish an intentional career path to graduation and beyond.
  • Assist students with creating comprehensive career pathways that include information and experiences needed to make sound academic decisions.
  • Display behavior consistent with the professional ethics, and the FMU faculty and staff handbook.
  • A thorough understanding of technology, learning management systems, and computer applications are essential (i.e. Blackboard, Canvas, Powercampus, Jenzabar, LinkedIn Learning).
  • Performs other duties as required or directed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature in the utmost professional manner.

  • Effective analytical and decision-making skills . Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and time management skills . Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse constituents .

  • Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.

  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, initiative, resourcefulness, and personal accountability.

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling objects of average weight up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field and three (3) years of work-related experience, or a Master’s degree with two (2) years of related work experience.
  • Experience working in higher education is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in workforce training, especially as it concerns certifications and credentials.
  • Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.
