The project coordinator will manage project logistics with the team in order to engage in a year-long planning process for a shared housing model for LGBTQ+ youth and pregnant and parenting youth experiencing homelessness in Richmond. The coordinator will work with partner organizations and community members to ensure the inclusion of youth with lived experience expertise for inclusion on the planning team. The coordinator will also manage logistics of focus groups designed to collect input from the target populations. Project planning team meetings will occur twice each month. The project coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day activities required to support the goals of planning a shared housing model utilizing private market rental housing for LGBTQ+ youth and pregnant and parenting youth. Specifically, duties include:
- Development and maintenance of a planning team made up of community partners, young people with lived experience and university partners
- Plan and facilitate meetings with community partners and young people with lived experience expertise
- Consistently record minutes for meetings and perform tasks that results from meetings
- Perform general clerical tasks necessary for success of the project
- Ensure that grant objectives are met based on project timeline
- Part-time, non-benefited position limited to 15 hours per week

- Ability to coordinate and conduct multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be detail-oriented and have good observation skills.
- Familiarity with the program planning process and principles of program design.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management and communication skills.
- Ability to establish priorities and to handle multiple tasks.
- Lived experience with homelessness
- Experience working with communities of color
- Experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community
- Experiencing working with youth who have experienced homelessness
