The Department of Biological Sciences at Oakland University invites
applications for an open-rank faculty position in Freshwater
Ecology, with a start date of August 15, 2022. Competitive
applicants will have a Ph.D. in ecology, environmental science or
related field, postdoctoral experience, and a strong research
record evidenced by high-quality publications dealing with
freshwater ecology. Success securing significant external funding
will be required of applicants applying for the rank of Associate
or Full Professor, and strong potential for acquiring funding
should be demonstrated for applications at the level of Assistant
Professor. Successful candidates are expected to establish a
vigorous research program addressing applied and/or basic questions
regarding freshwater ecology. Mentoring undergraduate and graduate
(MS and PhD) students is expected. Candidates must demonstrate
experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Laboratory space and competitive start-up funds will be provided.
The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
Possible areas of research expertise include: microbial ecology,
spatial ecology, biogeochemistry, ecotoxicology, population
biology, biostatistics, modeling, and ecosystem ecology.
