Athletic Trainer


Lasell University in Newton, MA is seeking applications for the position of Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, 10-month position with full benefits, located in the Department of Athletics and reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine. The Athletic Trainer will assist in providing athletic training services to the Department of Athletics' seventeen Division III varsity sports and the University's club sports.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Daily rehabilitation and preparation of all student-athletes for practice or competition. Including taping, bandaging, and bracing.
  • Emergency management of acute injuries.
  • Develop and implement treatment and reconditioning of athletic injuries.
  • Travel with athletic teams as assigned and provide athletic injury care coverage during practice and games.
  • Communicate with coaches and athletes as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate athletic injury care records and reports as required utilizing sportsware computer program following all NCAA, GNAC and NATA guidelines.
  • Identify mental health and nutritional issues and coordinate appropriate care.
  • Schedule and oversee athletic clearance physical examinations, perform baseline concussion testing for each student-athletes assigned.
  • Coordinate set-up of emergency and safety equipment for practice and competition.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Athletic Training Program.
  • Certification in good standing through the BOC for at least three years.
  • Licensure to practice athletic training in the state of Massachusetts (or eligible).
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certifications.
  • Two years of experience in a collegiate athletic training setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field of study.
  • Instructor certification to teach CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid.
  • CSCS or NASM certification.

Additional Considerations:
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a professional environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the department and the institution.
  • Well organized and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Nights and weekends required.
